Pedal and Wrench NA Bike Collective

Monday, May 6

5:00-7:00pm

The Armory, 206 Ashland St., North Adams (look for the garage doors in the back)

 

Bring your own bike or work on a bike at the bike collective. You’ll have the opportunity to learn from other community members on basic bike fixes, or team up with more experienced bike mechanics to rebuild a bike. Beacon Recovery Community Center Open Hours

Wednesdays, May 1,8,15,22,29

10am – 2:00pm

 

The Beacon Recovery Community Center is a new program of Northern Berkshire Community Coalition (nbCC) to provide peer support to those seeking recovery from addiction. BRCC is a peer led effort that provides support groups, connections to networks that can assist anyone seeking recovery, and opportunities to socialize with others. nbCC’s Teen Writing Workshop Final Showcase

Wednesday, May 8

5:30 to 7:00pm

The Green, 85 Main Street, North Adams

 

Local teens will read powerful, original works that they have crafted throughout this year’s 20-week Teen Writing Workshop. All are welcome. Free of charge. nbCC feels strongly that Teen Writing Workshop participants should deliver unfiltered, unchanged works. For this reason, some material may not be suitable for children under the age of 14.

 

 

How to Get Organized: FREE Parenting Workshop Series

Friday, May 10

10:00 -11:30am

nbCC, 61 Main Street, Suite 213, North Adams

 

This workshop will demonstrate some quick and easy tips on how to keep organized by using a planner to organize medical/emergency contact/financial information and meal planning. Each family will receive a binder and planner. Registration is free, call (413) 663-7588. Light refreshments will be served and transportation and childcare will be available upon request.

 

 

Wild Foraging: FREE Working on Well-being Workshop Series

Tuesday, May 14

5:00-6:30 pm

Greylock Glen, Adams

 

Take a walk in the Glen and learn to identify wild plants and flowers that can be used in medicinal home remedies. Workshop led by Shannon Toye of Herbellion Apothecary. Correcting Misbehavior: FREE Parenting Workshop Series

Learn The Common Sense parenting technique of Corrective Teaching that stops negative behavior, delivers a consequence, and teaches children a positive, alternative behavior. Gardening 101: FREE Parenting Workshop Series

10:30 am to 12:00 pm

nbCC's Monthly Forum – Bridging Schools and Community Across North Berkshire

MCLA Church Street Center, North Adams

 

nbCC invites our schools and broader community to the table to talk about how to bring these two worlds closer together. Our communities are struggling with a variety of social issues and our schools, small reflections of our larger communities, are not escaping these challenges. This conversation will be about what our experiences are, what challenges and successes exist, and how each of us can play a role in creating more positive culture in our community and schools. Reducing Waste at its Source: FREE Working on Well-being Workshop Series

5:00-6:00 pm

UNO Community Center, 157 River Street, North Adams

 

Learn how you can reduce your waste from the source by being conscious about where you buy your groceries and using BYO (Bring Your Own) containers. Bring cleaned glass jars and a t-shirt to learn how to jump-start your zero-waste adventure! Workshop led by local volunteer and sustainability advocate, Mary Stucklen.
